Motorized curtains in Dubai

Motorized curtains in Dubai make daily opening and closing more convenient, particularly at wide or hard-to-reach windows. Easy Buy Curtains offers motorised curtain systems alongside made-to-measure curtains. Start with the track, curtain and power requirements, then choose controls that work with the specified equipment.

Start with the curtain and track, not the app

A motorised system moves the curtain along a compatible track. The motor, track, carriers and curtain must be specified together. A wide window with heavy lined curtains can need a different arrangement from a shorter opening with light sheers. The opening direction, track shape and space for stacked fabric also matter.

An existing track is not automatically suitable for a motor. Before assuming that a current curtain can be converted, ask the team to inspect the hardware, fixing surface and finished curtain weight. A new track may be needed. The measurement visit should establish how the curtain will move and what can be retained, rather than promising a universal retrofit.

Confirm the power arrangement before fitting

Motorised equipment may use mains power or another power arrangement, depending on the model. A suitable socket or electrical provision needs to be planned for the actual equipment. Ask where the motor will sit, how cables will be routed and whether access remains available for future maintenance. Do not assume every motor is battery operated or that a socket is already in the right place.

If electrical work is necessary, confirm who is responsible and what is included in the quote. Discuss this before the curtain and track are manufactured. In rented homes, obtain any permission needed for new fixings or electrical changes. A tidy result depends on both curtain fitting and the practical services around the window.

Remote, app and smart-home controls are model dependent

A remote can provide a simple opening and closing control. App operation may add schedules or other functions, but those depend on the motor and its associated controller. Voice control and a particular smart-home platform should never be assumed from the word “smart”. Ask for the supported system, any required hub and the setup instructions for the chosen equipment.

Tell the team which devices you already use and what you want the curtains to do. Confirm compatibility before placing the order. Also ask how the system works when the network is unavailable, whether a separate remote remains usable and who will demonstrate pairing. Avoid sharing account passwords with installers; follow the device’s own secure setup process.

Plan one-sided, centre-opening and layered curtains

One-sided opening can be useful where a doorway or furniture leaves only one place for the fabric to stack. Centre opening may suit a balanced window wall. The track must allow the arrangement you want without fabric obstructing a door or blocking the view more than expected. Corners and unusual layouts require a specific assessment rather than a generic track promise.

If you are using sheers and blackout curtains, decide whether each layer needs independent control. Separate motors and tracks may be required for separate movement. Confirm the number of controls, how the layers will be identified and the clearance between them. The objective is convenient operation without making a simple everyday task unnecessarily complicated.

Demonstration, maintenance and the written specification

Ask how to operate the selected equipment during a power interruption. Some systems support manual movement or a release mechanism; others have different requirements. Never force a curtain against a motor without the manufacturer’s instructions. Noise and load claims should also come from the specified model, not a universal statement about all motorised tracks.

Before accepting the installation, ask for a demonstration of opening, closing and the agreed controls. Keep the model details and instructions. Easy Buy Curtains offers free measuring, delivery and fitting and a six-month warranty; confirm the exact scope for the motor, track and installation in writing. Book a visit to assess the windows before choosing the equipment.

Questions about motorised curtains

Will motorized curtains work with my smart-home system?

Compatibility depends on the motor and controller. Confirm the exact platform, any hub requirements and setup process for the selected model before ordering.

Can an existing curtain track be motorised?

Not every track is compatible. The existing track, curtain weight and mounting need assessment; replacement hardware may be required.

Can I move the curtains during a power cut?

This depends on the model. Ask for its manual-operation or release instructions and do not force the mechanism.
